Following a long career working for the ATO, Paul was appointed Secretary of the NSWJA in 1998 and then became the inaugural CEO of the Australian Jockeys Association when it was established in 2001.
Paul is a qualified accountant, being a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (FIPA) and a graduate of the Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
In 2011 he was awarded an Order of Australia (OAM) for service to jockeys. He has held the position of Chairman of the National Jockeys Trust (NJT) since it was established by the AJA in 2004.
